ASBBA Constitution

Name

The name of the club is shall be Antonio Santorelli's Black Belt Academy and will be referred to as the club or ASBBA.

Mission Statement

 Our aim at ASBBA:

  • To promote the practise of Amateur Martial Arts in the form of Sport Karate and Kick Boxing.
  • To make ASBBA accessible to all who want to participate in Martial Arts be it for sport, fitness or becoming the next champion.
  • To welcome beginners of all levels of fitness and ability.
  • Promote a high standard of instruction to equip members with the skills needed for self-defence or sport competitions.
  • Increase the reputation of ASBBA as a school of excellence.
  • Affiliate itself with local community activities.
  • Work closely with National and World Governing Bodies - AMA, WAKO and WTKA. 

Membership

Membership will be open to any person over the age of 4. We do not discriminate anyone who wishes to be part of ASBBA. People with physical or mental disabilities are also welcomed at ASBBA. A meeting with our president would be needed so that we can come up with a suitable programme for you.

Subscriptions

A monthly membership fee is required and is paid by standing order each month. The amount paid will depend on the program that you intend to follow. Fees will be reviewed periodically with any changes being communicated by letter or other means.

ASBBA Club Officials and Duties

Club President
  • Delegating authority within the club.
  • Ensuring all aims and objectives are carried though.
  • Ordering club equipment when required.
  • Organising activities and trips to be held at ASBBA or externally.
  • Implementing disciplinary measures in accordance to its code of conduct. 
  • Ensuring all club officials do their jobs to a high standard.
  • Being aware of the clubs financial situation.
  • Any other duties that are necessary for the smooth running of ASBBA.
 Club Secretary
  • Maintaining club records.
  • Organising the publicity of the club.
  • Completing welcome packs for new members.
  • Making sure relevant forms are filled in to prospective members and new members.
  • Ensuring all insurances and affiliations are up to date
  • Any other duties that are necessary for the smooth running of ASBBA.

Club Treasurer

  • Administrating the club's finances.
  • Overseeing expenditures.
  • Ensuring all training fees are paid each month.
  • Discuss budgets with any planned activities.
  • Any other duties that are necessary for the smooth running of ASBBA.

Club Child Protection Officers

  • Ensure the welfare of all its child members.
  • Be there if they need you.
  • Keep detailed logs of discussions or suspicions of abuse.
  • Liaise with the relevant bodies over matters concerning children.
  • Any other duties that are necessary for the smooth running of ASBBA.

Chief Instructor

  • Organising lesson themes and training schedules.
  • Ensuring that all Senior Instructors are fulfilling their obligation to the club.
  • Making travel arrangement to competitions.
  • Any other duties that are necessary for the smooth running of ASBBA.

Senior Instructors

  • Overseeing classes in the absence of the Chief Instructor.
  • Attending competitions in the absence of the Chief Instructor.
  • Any other duties that are necessary for the smooth running of ASBBA. 

Meetings

Development meetings will take place fortnightly.

The Constitution

Changes to the constitution can be implemented if approved by the committee. Members wishing to make changes to the constitution will need to address any changes at the meeting.

Complaints Procedures

This procedure has been created to allow members to raise complaints regarding issues which may include:

  • Poor standard of instruction.
  • Safety of activities.
  • Poor administration.
  • Standard of equipment used in activities.

All complaints need to be in writing and addressed to the President of the club.

Discipline

The committee will deal with any disciplinary matters and their decision is final. You may appeal against the decision in writing and within 10days where you will have an opportunity to discuss such matters with the committee.
