ASBBA are proud to promote their sponsors, 1st Place 4 Trophies, who offer great discounts on all awards regardless on quantities purchased. As a club we also participate with charity events especially those organised by our chosen charity, Mind. Our close work with our Governing Bodies and Local council allow us not only to teach to a high standard but to enable ongoing development for ALL staff and its members.

Tips for Tag Test and Gradings

You all need to prove that you are ready for the next step towards your Black Belt. Everyone starts with 0 points and YOU are the only one that can earn marks to a maximum of 10. It's all down to you. Here are some tips to help you impress the examiners. Some tips are worth more marks than others.

  • Demonstrate correct techniques in both stances.
  • Lots of body and head movement.
  • Your warm-up is also part of your tag test.
  • Sharp techniques required. The stronger the better.
  • All kicks need to be above the waist.
  • Keep your guard up and stay on your toes.
  • Loud ke-i's.
  • Focus and concentrate forwards at all times.
